5/24/2023 0 Comments Chirri and chirra books![]() ![]() Those charming Japanese sisters, Chirri and Chirra, return in this third picture-book devoted to their magical bicycling adventures. ![]() I can't think of a nicer bedtime story, I wish I'd had these when my children were tiny, my 12yr old absolutely loved this book as I think anyone who loves animals, beautiful illustrations and imaginative stories will. Chirri and Chirra go into one with a bear family, snuggle up and watch the shooting stars as they drift of to sleep. After eating rainbow coloured steamed buns from the hot springs a candle lit procession of animals walks through the icy landscape to an area of different sized igloo. This author has a very good imagination, there are lots of inventive detail such as when they play marbles, the marbles are made of frozen flower buds that when they take into the hot springs they melt and flower. Chirri and Chirra cycle off for another adventure, this time they find a door made of ice and when they enter they find a whole world of beautiful, cute animals doing all sorts of everyday things in an ice world, playing games, visiting a library, ice skating, playing instruments, so much to look at.
